It has been as strange ... well, I don't know
wheter ti call it hours or days. Everything has seemed detached and unreal,
certainly things are not as they should be.
I have been ripped from the Court by some strange magical manifestation, of a
power even I cannot comprehend. I knew this was no dream, but still fougth to
accept what was happening. But wait .. in my confusion I leave out what may be
important details. Let me start from the very beginning.
For two nights running I heard that gong. Despite enquiring amongst all palace
officials and ordering several servants to investigate for me I was unable to
find it's source. I am certain that, on the second night of its chiming, the
world .. changed, at least for a time.
On the third the ... shall I call it a tentacle, or magic? The magic came for
me. I warded against it with all my skill and might, but it was as a low-born
child trying to face my powerful blood.
I was brought into a vast chamber, with huge pictures set upon the walls.
Inhabiting the chamber were two others caught by the magic, and a mad woman.
I must believe her to be a mad woman, though it does remain to be seen how mad
she truely is. I must hope that she is irretrievably insane, for if she is
sober-minded then this is the beginning of what will not be pleasant days for
me, or my companions.
Ah yes. My Companions. They seem to have no knoweldeg of Royal Blood, and do not
show me respect due my station. However, the woman who called me seemed to
believe thay shared blood with me, and so I treat them warily, lest they also
have strong blood. I have shown them only my minor capacity for healing. Let
them make of that what they will.
So. This mad woman sent us out again, accompanied by much mystic advice, and we
arrived in a room occupied by an "inert" queen and a warrior woman in
strage gard, who has obviously been fighting some evil manifestations for some
time. She seemed almost gald of rest as was I, and thankfully my companions
rightfully took watch. Perhaps this is the first sign they begin to recognise my
status.
I gather the warrior-woman believes the mad woman to be dead, though perhaps the
mad woman has ben trapped has been trapped within the edifice for a long time.
Bah! I reread what I have written, and it is clear I still rush over details,
and present these events in an unforgivably vague and formless fashion. Still,
as yet unknowing what is truth and what is madness, or exactly what the mad
woman- Diedre- wanted from us it is hard to be as precise as I should.
I wil watch things carefully, both events around me and my companions, and seek
a way to prove this woman mad and return to court, or else - all the gods
forfend - to undergo this mission she has set us, and bring about it's success.
One final thing. If what Dierdre says is true - about there being a yet more
powerful blood, which I share, then perhaps this is another misfortune come
about to bring me good. I should certainly relish learning some of the magicks
that she wielded to transportt us to her.
I wonde what I will find when I next awaken.
