Cordelia leads the party in a spiral around the caldera as it slowly transforms into a mountain and they gain height. After a few hours they start to descend again, eventually emerging onto the plateau they left the day before. From there is is just a case of retracing their steps down the face of the mountain and back to the coaching inn they passed in the early hours of the previous morning after they first set foot in Amber.
Cordelia arranges food and rooms. After eating and bathing Allanon talks Kohaku into sparring with him. Cordelia watches for a while and then offers to spar with both. Allanon feels inferior after Cordelia pulls a Neo on him.
Just prior to the 13H incursion they all gather in the common room. Putting Dierdre's theorems to the test Cordelia trumps her, and is rewarded after a couple of minutes with a connection. She is informed that Dworkin paid a visit and left half the "Book of Selheim" there. Dierdre passes it to Cordelia.
Shortly after the end of the conversation there is a trump surge and Ghostwheel manifests. It engages in a certain amount of verbal sparring with Cordelia, whilst appearing to offer help the the other party members. More to annoy Cordelia than anything else it transports then to the Frolicking Lion in Ashan. This forces Cordelia to pay for another set of rooms for them all to stay in.
Fane and Allanon rise early to get in some early sparing, both hand to hand and with a sword. Cordelia also rises reasonably early and joins/is joined by a number of locals for a morning Tai-Chi session.
After breakfast they head for the docks, where the Loretta Bow is berthed. Cordelia notices things are not what they should be and proceeds with a certain amount of caution. Allanon casts a spell and reads the mind of one of the crew. As he's about to warn Cordelia about other "Amberites being on board" they find themselves paralyzed and Benedict walks on deck and then removes both Cordelia's and Sorcha's swords. He then requests that everyone accompany him to the Captains cabin.
Cordelia offers no resistance and suggests the others do like wise. Once in the cabin, Cordelia introduces Llewella, whose arm appears to be in a sling, and Bendict, and then introduces the waifs to them.
Llewella then demands that Cordelia takes them to Carnelian, as neither she nor Benedict has been there, and with Fiona blocking trump they can't trump there.
