Alan (Charity) was back this week but Andy (Sorcha) got held up at the last minute and couldn't make it.
This week was really about attempting to resolve last weeks mess. The question is have they gone from bad to worse?
Sorcha heals her wounds then settles in for some much needed rest. She's awoken by the first rain as the approaching storm moves in. Not clothed to sit out a storm in the open she returns to the horses check they're ok and then rides for the coaching inn 30 miles up the road. Soaked and cold she decides to wait out the storm here before deciding what to do next. Besides it allows her to wait out the 13H in relative safety.
Charity awakes after sleeping off her bottle of wine and decides to go exploring. She asks Orac for help, but they're too close to the pattern and he's forced to shut down. The pattern also makes using most pattern powers here difficult but by using pattern sight and the pattern as a reference shes able to keep tabs on where she and Alfred are going.
Allagahn regains consciousness and sets about formulating a plan. As the 13H approaches he creates a disturbance attracting the guards to his cell. They open the door and he retreats. With a few seconds to go he attacks, using a sacrifice move to hurl one of them into the far wall of his cell. Unfortunately for him the world doesn't freeze and the second guard applies his club to Allagahn's head rendering him unconscious once more.
Charity's and Alfred's wanderings bring
them back to the central chamber where they can hear signs of a fight
in progress. Two guards are lying prone at unnatural angles and four
more are attempting to pin Cordelia down.
Pretending to join the
battle on the guards side Charity closes until she is able to kill the
guard just thrown by Cordelia. This provides sufficient distraction to
allow Cordelia to draw her sword and kill one to the two remaining
guards. As she kills one the remaining guard makes a break for the
stairs, but is intercepted part way up by Alfred and then killed by a
flying Charity.
Cordelia leads the way into the cell block killing the guards on watch. She throws the keys to Charity and tells her to let Allagahn out. Charity gives them to Alfred. Cordelia disappears deeper into the cells.
Cordelia reappears as Allagahn is let out and leads them into a tiny cell at the far end of the prison block there is barely room for them all to get in. She then reactivates Dworkin's trump of the Light house at Cabra, before opening a gate and ushering the others through into the full force of the storm.
Due to Allagahn's condition they are forced to take the lighthouse keepers boat to cross to the headland, which in the gale takes them over an hour. Cordelia leads them across the headland, down across the bay and into the city via the docks. They cross the city and are ten forced to scale the cliff leading to the East stair due to the presence of a large number of guards in a fortified position at its base where it meets the quayside.
An altercation with a roving patrol is interrupted by the appearance of Mikato, allowing them to gain the bluff, and their horses. Cordelia rides double with Alfred as there are four of them and only three horses. They reach the inn shortly after midnight by which time the storm has blown itself out.
With some effort they rouse the inn keeper and plying him with money arrange rooms, dry clothes, hot baths, and food. They also purchase Alfred's old horse and meet up with Sorcha.
After the 13H passes they set off for Ashan, Cordelia leading on a gentle hell ride. They enter the city early in the afternoon and do a little shopping before stabling the horses and heading for the docks. Cordelia leads them aboard the Herrigburn, but is spooked by the response she gets from the captain. Suspecting a trap she follows him to his cabin, where she is surprised by Benedict.
Llewella meanwhile has immobilized the rest of the party with a little sorcery. Benedict escorts Cordelia back on deck and suggests the other follow him below. Reluctantly they agree.
As Benedict and Llewella start extracting information from the group, they ship puts to sea. Benedict then announces that they're all going on a little trip to Carnelian to see Fiona.
