The Keep of the Thirteenth Hour

GM Session Logs - Session 3

Introduction

Not much for the intro this week. We basically pick up where we left off. Events got interesting with the collapse of Cordelia. This little curve ball really stunned them, just as they were beginning to think of her as some kind of super hero. Tut! Tut!
There's an outside chance we may gain a new player in the next couple of weeks.

Carnelian - At the base of the rock slide

The decision is basically made. Cordelia and Charity will ascend the cliff and enter the castle. Alfred and Allagahn will wait nestled into the cliff on the scree about half way up.

Cordelia and Charity enter the castle without much difficulty - the direct approach can sometimes be the best. They meet with Fiona, who shows them the tunnel and then heads back off to the pattern.

After grabbing a quick shower, change of clothes, and something to eat, Charity and Cordelia rejoin Alfred and Allagahn. They've only been away about three and a half hours. They make their way down the scree and back to where they left Vialle, reaching them in the late evening - rescaling the cliff in the dark was fun wasn't it. A short 5 hour drive later and the trucks are parked in the loading bay under the castle and people can retire for the night.

Carnelian - Walking the Pattern

Alfred, Allagahn, and Charity are woken at 8am the following morning, and shown to the dining room. After breakfast Cordelia takes them to the pattern room. Charity is just along to keep and eye on things.
Alfred goes first, followed by Allagahn. Both teleport to their guest room as instructed. After Allagahn completes his walk Fiona insists that Cordelia walks the pattern and join her.
Charity goes to check that Alfred and Allagahn are in their rooms and doesn't see Cordelia collapse on the pattern.

Carnelian - No more hero's anymore

Charity rushes to the Infirmary to see if there's anything she can do. After a few hours of inconclusive tests and a pattern scan, which reveals Cordellia has an aura if very feint, Charity decides to try a direct Psychic link. The result in interesting and she's forced to break contact to avoid falling into the empty void where Cordelia's consciousness should be.
She decides to get some rest.

Carnelian - A new breed of hero?

Allagahn, wakes first after a 20 hour nap and goes in search of breakfast. Detouring to visit Fiona in the pettern room. She dismisses him. He retires to the dining room in search of that breakfast.
Having stuffed his face he goes in search of General Hammond to see if he can offer any help with the strategic defence of the castle. From his point of view a very interesting one and a half hours pass by.

Meanwhile, Charity has risen and gone to check on Cordelia. From outward appearences there is no change, but a pattern scan reveals a slight brightening in Cordelia's aura. She decides to go and talk to Fiona.

Last one up is Alfred. Now able to converse with the servants he finds out how taps and showers work, orders breakfast, and some clothes that will fit his now Human shape.
Washed, dressed, and breakfasted he tries to locate Cordelia. Finding out about her condition, he decides to find Charity instead.

Meeting in the coridoor outside the dining hall, our heros decide what to do next. Based on what Fiona told Charity, she basically decides that going to Amber to see what they can find in the library - or what's left of it- is the next step. Various discussions follow before they eventually set off, leaving the same way they came in - via the tunnel-, except they're now on horseback not driving trucks.
