Day 8

I meet with Isocrates for breakfast. And we have a chat. He has found the workshop but was not allowed to use it. Needs permission from someone. Kohaku has walked the pattern again and could be anywhere. Not good. When he walked the pattern he talked to Corwin more and found out that the demons are in the local shadows so we need to be careful shadow walking near this shadow. We need a trump if Deirdre to contact her. Cordelia has mentioned trumps before. She said she talked to Fiona through one. But not sure what they are. Will have to wait till Cordelia is awake. The pattern in Amber is the one to fix.

I take Isocrates to the command centre to talk to someone about the workshop. And then we go out to the range. We practise with pistols. Then someone says we should try the rifles which we do. Much better. Then we spar with swords.

Not much else happens doing the day. As no one else is around. I do some shape shifting practise. I can now mould the sock quiet well. Not fully yet though.

In the evening I head back out. This time I range further out about 7 miles to see if I can spot a small group of demons. I use the wolf form as it is the best tracker. I manage to spot the scent of 4 demons. Once I have got close to them I change to vampire form while moving and then charge them. I knock one down in the charge. But the other 3 manage to knock me down. These demons seem to be harder and stronger than the other I have faced. But then can’t harm me and in the end I manage to kill two of them and knock one unconscious. One escapes though. So I carry the unconscious one about a mile away so as not to be disturbed if the other brings back help.

I then I do an extensive study of the demon. Its skin, organs etc etc. I now have a fully mental map of how this demon is put together. I also get a full aura scan of it too.

This take most of the night so I head back to the castle.

Day 9

I have breakfast with Allanon and Isocrates. Kohaku has still not been seen. Allanon says he want to use a spell to delve Cordelia’s mind to see if she is ok and can be reached. So we head to the hospital. But Cordelia has woken up already. The doctor tells us to come back in an hour. So we go and spar for an hour then return.

Isocrates asks Cordelia what trumps are. She get out a pack of cards each has a picture on it, and tells us they are trumps. And they can be used to talk or even teleport to someone.

Cordelia asks what we have been doing, where Luke is etc.

We tell her Luke will be back from getting coal soon. And that Kohaku has gone somewhere.

Are everyone else has left I ask Cordelia how we could get a trump of Kohaku so that we could find where she is.

Cordelia says we would need her Aura. But it would need to be after she walked the pattern as that will have modified it from when she read it.

I tell Cordelia that I have read her aura. She asks me to show it to her. She says it is dangerous to read auras and minds. And that my shape shifting will not save me. I tell her that I have used them to help me shift my aura. She tells me that doing that would make a trump of me useless
            Useful to know.
She does not seem happy that about this but says she will let it go for now.

I have to go and get her art supplies so she can draw a trump of Kohaku for me. So I head off to her room to get them.

On the way I meet Isocrates he is just off to take food to Fiona as no one has done it for days.

I find the art supplies and a few other strange things in her bag, nothing that I could get information from oh well.

I take the stuff back to Cordelia so she can draw the trump. But when I get there she is arguing with the doctor she wants to leave but he says no. when the doctor has left I tell Cordelia I will sort out the doc while she draws the trump.

SO I go out and tell the doc that Cordelia is ok and that I will take her back to her room and make sure she is ok. He agrees in the end.

Cordelia gives me the trump and tells me I will have to leave the castle to use is as the castle is protected. I guess the stuff Fiona is doing.

We walk out and head to CnC. As we arrive there Isocrates teleports into the centre of the room and surprises everyone. Cordelia ask him what he has been doing. He says food for Fiona. Etc.

I ask Cordelia for a private word. So we go to her room. I tell her about the demons outside and that I can’t talk to them. So need to find a logrus etc. she does not know how I can do this. But says Allanon may be able to do a spell to help me.

That evening I go out again. This time I want to see if I can talk to some of the humans in the town.
