Chapter 10 - The

Another Day

Cordelia send me to the great hall to wait while she sorts stuff out. Our rooms are on the third floor. I pick a corner room. With good window access so I can leave via them if I need to. Over the next few days I scout out the castle and local area. And practice more shifting and stuff. Three days after we arrive at the castle Sorcha gets ill. She is sick a lot. I take her to bed and get Cordelia. Oh well Sorcha is pregnant, that explains some of why she hates the Horse. Later that day Prince Fredrick comes out of the abyss and takes the command centre over. Well at least we have some people to start the protection of the unicorn. I take Cordelia to meet Fredrick and tell him about the layout of the castle. He says that this is all the men he can spare to help protect the unicorn. I train with his troupes as it gives me more fighting training than just shifting practice. Cordelia goes and gets a midwife called Jexs. She is part wolf part human. Ok se we need to get more people to help protect the place. So all the ones that’s can shift go and get an army each. I carry on training and stuff while they are gone. Allanon get back first after about 26 days. 2 days later Cordelia gets back with her army. We get another incursion but this one is different the world does not freeze and I can count the full 13 strikes. Cordelia gets back with her army. Cordelia says she want to try something. She gets her trump deck out and then tips one out. And tries the others. They are all ok. Next she tries the tipped out one which is Brands Trump. She shuffles the deck and lays them out in a tarot layout. And it shows the trickster and Death. She says it’s a prediction of Brands death. She hovers her hand over Brands card and says it feels strange. As she is putting the deck away she fly’s across the room and the deck goes everywhere. When she comes round she is rattled and then says she needs to check something. She goes into a trance and when she comes out of it she says something targeted her sword. And that her sword is a trump construct. There is something in her sword, but she is not sure what. The next day Isocrates arrives back with his army,. 2 days later Sorcha give birth. And we see the approach of another army. I fly out too it and see it is being followed by another army.
