Date: 01/09/2150 Location: Black Tower

My sleep was disturbed this morning by a sudden power surge. Similar power surges occurred when the tentacles appeared and when hell riding, so I hoped Deirdre had noticed me, but no tentacle appeared and the power surge quickly dissipated. 

Although no tentacle appeared I decided to fly around the tower in hopes to find someone had been deposited outside instead.

To my surprise I find Isokretes on the ground, he seemed uninterested in the fact I was flying, he must have been concentrating on building the pattern, what else would cause such an erratic person to not be distracted.

After a short discussion we decide to continue our training of the pattern and attempt to shadow walk.
Taking in mind how gradual changes happened when we first shadow walked with Cordelia we decide to change things slowly.

Isokretes started first while I walk the pattern, and once I was ready he took a break and I started to change a few of the parameters.

Once we got back, I decided I would learn more about spell casting. I studied my books on 2 main topics:

1. parameters and requirements to make a cloaking spell, time reversal spell and a particle disassembly spell to cause a small to large area to be disassembled into cubes.
2. Start to learn the basics of conjuration.

Afterwards Isokretes gets picked up by a tentacle and tell him to inform Deirdre of my presence here. Kindly a few minutes later a tentacle picks me up as well. I'm unfortunately getting used to being picked up and flung where ever people decide to throw me, this is not good, I must discipline myself more and be more weary of my surroundings. Getting too complacent could get me killed.

Isokretes and me have a detailed discussion about the pattern and how to do other things with it. I asked about how to use it with my spell casting, yet the same result of asking fiona was suggested.

Deirdre also introduces me to 2 new faces, one to be Sorcha, Deirdre daughter, and the other to be Daemon who like use is an amberite, though he seems a little mentally unstable for now, what did Deirdre do to him or was he always this mad?

Deirdre informs use while drawing the pattern in our minds we can manipulate it and reshape it to have other effects.

The forms she described were:

• Manipulate probability = bend top right quardrent
• Physical protection = create a lens/concave pattern in front of me.
• Magic protection = create the pattern as cylinder inside me. The more I can bend the cylinder to my shape, the more effective the spell shall be.
• Find objects in shadow = bend bottom left quadrent of the pattern.
• Track shadow walker = Bend bottom right quadrent of the pattern.
• Scry = bend pattern into a flat bottom bowl.

Me, Isokretes and Sorcha went outside to do some practice.

Isokretes seemed to have some considerable difficulty with the scry, I think I will try that when I am more proficient with using the various other methods of the pattern.

I first attempt protect physical, after about 2 hours I manage to make the lens and asked sorcha to attempt to push against the barrier to see if it worked. As Deirdre explained it had worked, but I found this experience very tiring so I took a break and read my books to learn a bit more about magic.

After an hour or so of rest, I attempt track shadow walker. After about 2 hours again I manage to get the kink in the bottom right of the pattern but it quickly falls apart as my head was pounding.

We went inside to get some food and rest.

Date: 02/09/2150 Location: Black Tower

I woke up very early this morning. As it was still early, me and Isokretes decided we would get some physical exercise in, at least I don't want to be getting out of shape. We also practice our swordsmanship, as I retrace the techniques my martial arts master had taught me.

When we were deposited outside we noticed Kohaku was climbing the tower, so I told her, shouted, to stay there and I would get her. I don't think she will listen but never mind.

I cast a fly spell on myself and proceed to collecting her, where she reluctantly puts her creatures into her portable containers and I pick her up and fly her down to Isokretes.

I attempt to track shadow walker again and manage in much quicker, this must have been because I had previously managed to get the shape ready yesterday. I decide to follow where the tear in shadow was where kohaku appeared from and then made my way back.

By time I had got back Kohaku and Isokretes had already begun to be picked up by the tentacle where another quickly came out and collected me as I got closer to the tower.

The three of us eat, Kohaku especially, she looked like she hadn't eaten in several days. It was uncomfortable how bestial she looked as she ate.

Once I had eaten, I decided to practice my martial arts, hand to hand and with my sword. Practicing my forms to make sure I can execute them with pristine accuracy and precision.

Kohaku decided she would retire for the night, and I have no idea where Isokretes disappeared.

Afterwards I decide to practice more pattern related abilities and try manipulate probability outside. Within 1 1/2 hours I manage it, but I again get those huge headaches.

I rest up and once settled I try protect physical, to try and improve the abilities further. I can now bring the lens up in 20 minutes.

I rest up and get picked up by a tentacle, as I get dragged into the tower I see cordelia who finds the event interesting. I told her to wait there and id get someone to pick her up. Where I try and tell the tentacle and mentally mention there is someone outside to be picked up, Cordelia.

She gets picked up and Cordelia and Deirdre have a slight confrontation, with Cordelia unable to believe Deirdre is who she claims to be and Deirdre unable to prove her otherwise, things seemed to be getting tense.

Finally they stopped as Deirdre decides to introduce her to a few others, those from our party and Sorcha and Daemon.
