I wake up fairly late in the morning, roughly 10.30.
It seems as though everyone has already gone to have breakfast without me, no matter I have my own agenda to fulfill for today.
As it took considerable amount of time to construct the pattern in my mind, I felt I am not ready to experiment and must walk the pattern considerably quicker. Knowing that Cordelia had been using this technique to do hellriding and shadow walking, I can only guess she must be able to mind walk the pattern in a few minutes.
Therefore I set out to practice this until I can also do this in a few minutes.
I had to take an hour break between attempts to provide me with enough rest that I do not get too tired to practice.
By the end of the day I was able to mind walk the pattern in under an hour. Reasonable progress.
In the morning I went to have breakfast with Fane and Isokretes as they were getting ready at a similar time.
I asked Fane to show me to where Cordelia was, to attempt to read her mind to try and gain any information about her motives and about the pattern admittedly.
Fane first needed to go to the command center so we followed, it was a good opportunity to learn about where things were and what the level of operations were. Once Fane had debriefed them about his adventures outside the castle we went to the infirmary where Cordelia was.
It looks like the soldiers of the command center treat Fane with great respect and that of a ranked officer. My guess is this is because of the captain stripes on his uniform and his actions and merited this response.
I know I should not let this get to me, but it does a little, especially as the others pay little to no respect to the rest of the party.
It would prove useful to know how the state of things are out there, also id like to test the effectiveness of my spells against these demons to see whether they will be useful against them.
When we got to the infirmary, it seems Cordelia was finally awake, I guess I lost my chance to get some information, but now at least I can ask her directly.
When we asked to see her, the doctor told us to come back in an hour.
The other 2 go off somewhere, but I decided to stay at the infirmary and practice mind walking the pattern again, it took me just under 50 minutes this time.
Once Isokretes and Fane appear, we went to see Cordelia was ready to take guests, it looked like the doctors and nurses were a bit nervous to see Cordelia, no doubt she was giving them as much trouble as they were giving her.
Apparently she seemed to be in some sort of dream like state where she caught a feather and to her surprise managed to wake up.
Cordelia asks us what we have been doing for the last few days in her absence, she sounded annoyed and puzzled at our lack of progress.
I explained to her we were asleep for 2 of the days and the remainder of 1 day I have been practicing mind walking the pattern. Cordelia asked me to show her but I explained that could take nearly an hour to perform.
The nerve of the woman, said I should practice harder, what in blazes does she think I have been doing. In my fustration I snapped at her telling her by the end of the day I will have walking the pattern in under 10 minutes.
She said she would hold me to those words, just you wait, I plan on much more then that.
I stormed out and practiced mind walking the pattern near the tree and pattern. Within 2-3 hours I am able to mind walk the pattern in 8 minutes.
Oddly when I was trying to mind walk the pattern while isokretes was walking it, I could see his figure and the figure of another man, a soldier of sorts.
Although this did surprise me, I can only assume that was corwin's image on the pattern.
