I recovered the sword I was looking for and headed back hastily to meet up with the others. I did my best to practice some hell riding on the way. It wasn't easy and I required frequent stops, however I estimate I made about the same headway as I would have with shadow walking.
Charity found me halfway back and we travelled together. We discussed plans for getting into Amber and the idea of utilising the 13th hour to our advantage.
She had a few ideas of her own, which mostly involved pretending to be a chaos demon and taking Albert and I in as prisoners. I found this a very risky and fairly unappealing option, it also provided us with little advantage once we were through the main gates.
It has been a tedious journey, we have had to stop frequently to rest the horses and find where the others have moved to, but we are getting there. I am taking the time to practice some mind walking the pattern and I am now finding it much easier and quicker to bring up the pattern in front of me. As well as receiving guidance from Charity on this topic, I am building my own study regime. First I have concentrated on bringing up the pattern (which often left me exhausted), and I have moved on to looking in a particular direction. By the end of the journey I was actually able to bring up the pattern and search for the road to Amber.
