Allagahn son of Benedict has never had a very normal life. Surrounded by soldiers, terrorists, diplomats, and business men, he began learning the art of war as soon as he was able to speak.
For much of his life he studdied by the side of his father, leaderof the galaxies most feared and respected, band of mercenaries, "The Dark Hearts", renowned for stopping at nothing to complete a contractswiftly and effectively. It is said, "to be a Dark Heart , all you need is good discerpline and a very strong stomach."
When his father disappeared, Allagahn took control of the unit and it has prospered under his unrivaled leadership. Allagahn is known as a fair man and a superb general. His men are fiercely loyal due to the many years of financial success the unit has enjoyed.
Little is known of Allagahn's mother, and is father was always vague on the subject, saying only, that she would not allow a military upbringing, so they parted company. Allagahn has no further information on the matter and believes it unlikely he ever will. His father's own origins are also a mystery to him. he apparently arrived in the region during a time of great war and switly began to establish the mercenary unit that exists today.
The birth of Allagahn's own son, Callaighn, is also a curious affair. Callaighn's mother sought out Allagahn during the coronation of King Olad. She was only seen once after that time, to deliver her son to Allagahn. There was no doubt in Allagahn's own mind that this was his sonand he had no reservations about receiving the boy and allowing his mother to depart. Callaighn has been instructed in the art of war by his father, in the hope that one day his son will take over the unit.
Allagahn prides himself on his logic, negotiation skill and ability to read an opponent. he is not a greedy man, however he and his men enjoy a luxurious life style.
As payment for contracts, he has been known to accept anything from slaves to high tech weapon plans and prefers a fixed price to the often unpredictable "spoils of war" approach adopted by many of his rivals.
The Dark Hearts currently numbers just over 100,000 individuals consisting mainly of infantry, special forces, saboteurs, terrorists, assassins, and spies. It is an equal opportunity employer and hires many non humanoids for special duties. Each contract is approached differently, with care taken to find the correct method to quickly cripple the enemy.
