Banishment (Lesser)

65

Std

2500ft

2 weeks per level

This invocation can be cast as either a spell or a ritual and causes one Lesser Supernatural Creature per level of the Arcanist to leave the immediate area (2500ft radius) and remain outside the area for two weeks per level of the caster.

If the creature saves vs magic then the effects of the spell are ignored. Th e caster can make the save harder by targeting less creatures. For each decrement of 2 creatures affected the save is made at a penalty of 1.

Control and Enslave Entity

80

Std

90ft

48 hours per level

This invocation enables the Arcanist to control encountered Entities. Each Entity is allowed to save vs Magic, with those failing falling under the direct control of the Arcanist. The Arcanist can control two Entities per level of experience, and the Entities will obey to the best of their ability.

After the duration of the magic expires the Arcanist can attempt the control again, use a Banishment spell, or simply let go their control. The latter option is dangerous as the Entity may attack the Arcanist out of revenge, spite, or just because he’s there. Highly Intelligent Evil Entities may work with the Arcanist without control if it furthers their own schemes.

Metamorphisis (Superior)

100

None

Self

20 minutes per level

This spell allows an Arcanist to alter its body structure to become human, non-human, D-Bee, Animal, Creature, Monster, or Insect. As with other Metamorphosis spells the Arcanist gains none of the special abilities of the creature impersonated, ie if the Arcanist impersonates a Dragon , then he remains an SDC creature , can’t fly, doesn,t get the Breath Weapon or Sense abilities etc.

If the spell version is used to impersonate a distinct person then the Arcanist must have disguise skill. The chance of impersonation is then disguise skill + 35% even though magic is used, and the Arcanist must have a good recent photography to work from.

When used as a ritual the above may be used to transform somebody else, or the Arcanist can transform another person into an exact duplicate of himself, or the Arcanist can turn himself or another into the exact duplicate of another person present at the ritual (eg a captive).

Note: The spell only allows physical appearance to be altered (height, weight, size, skin / hair/ eye colour, etc) and does not bestow voice, accent, skills, memories etc.

Mystic Portal

Spec

4 rounds per level

This invocation creates a dimensional anomaly allowing transfer between two points. The action of the invocation differs when cast as a spell or ritual.

The first use of the spell version is to by-pass a blockage in a passage or gain access through a substance. The Arcanist incants the spell and points at where the desired opening should be. Instantly a passage of area 6 square feet per level and length 15 feet per level appears through the substance.

The second use is as a teleport spell . The Arcanist incants an open doorway on a vertical surface and determines the destination location upto 250ft per level away. This location must be well known to the Arcanist. When the doorway appears the destination can clearly be seen and stepping through teleports the person to that location. The doorway may be upto 2 square feet per level in area.

The limitation of the spell version is that direction of travel is one way. With the ritual version the Arcanist draws the openings on the surfaces , steps through , draws the openings at the far end , and then steps back to the point at which the ritual was cast. Travel is now possible in both directions , but the duration of the spell is halved.

Summon and Control Rodents

70

Std

1 mile Rdd per level

5 hours per level

This spell allows the Arcanist to Summon and Control all forms of Rodents. The caster can summon 1D4x10 Rodents of animal intelligence per level, 1 intelligent Rodent per level, or 1 mutant or civilized Rodent per 5 full levels. Animals save at -2, Intelligent Rodents at +2, and Mutant or Civilized Rodents at +4 +bonuses.

This spell may only be cast as a ritual and requires the construction of a Pentacle.

The Arcanist controls those summoned whether he is inside or outside the Pentacle. In addition whilst in the Pentacle the Arcanist may control any animal Rodent within LOS (save allowed) , and attempt to control Intelligent or Mutant Rodents to the limit of his abilities. Animal Rodents not controlled will not harm the Arcanist, whilst others are likely to make him their prime target (save vs Magic or attack as Frenzy). The Pentacle acts as a circle of protection against Rodents.

Rodents will be summoned from a radius of 1 mile per level of the Arcanist.

Summon and Control Shadow Beast

140

None

Spec

Special

This invocation allows the Arcanist to Summon and Control one beast from the Realm of Shadows for each 5 levels he possesses.

The length of time the Beast remains under the control of the Arcanist depends upon the method of summoning. If a spell is used the beast remains for 6 rounds per level whilst if a ritual is used the beast remains for 1 hour per level. Summoned Shadow beasts never fight to the death and always returned to their own realm if reduced to 5% or less of their MDC.

Once the duration of the Magic expires the Beast is forced to return to its own realm unless it save vs magic, in which case it can remain to reek havoc in this world.

When in shadows shadow beasts are completely undetectable- See Shadow Meld Notes.

Wards

90

Std

Spec

Special

This invocation is used to protect objects or dwellings, or to bar access ways. The invocation places a glowing symbol (or for the expenditure of 5 PPE per ward an invisible one) onto the object touched or suspended in the air.

If the invocation is cast as a spell the Arcanist traces the outline of the ward with his finger, whist if cast as a ritual the Arcanist draws the outline using chalk, charcoal, or similar.
