After the problems caused the last time Shiftsville moved, the
Shiftsville Council in conjuction with The Irregulars decide that
greater protection of the area would be afforded if permanent defensive
fortifications were established around the 5 major nexus points around
shiftsville.
Whilst this would not have prevented the invasion [it was felt that
establishing cordon positions around each of the seven possible
Shiftsville locations was economically unviable] it would have helped
greatly in preventing access to the Nexus points.
The defensive fortifications are to serve two purposes :-
- To attempt to contain anything that emerges from a Rift at the Nexus points.
- To control/prevent access to the Nexus itself by exterior forces.
Construction began at the five sites in mid-october 101 PA with
completion due between August 102 PA and December 102 PA. With the
absence of any Stone-Wizzards to erect controlling pyramids the defense
stations are being built from traditional Mega-Damage Alloys and
Concrete.
